After a long career in advertising art, Paul Sullivan has been a full time watercolor artist for over twelve years. A graduate of The University of Toledo and The Toledo Museum School of Design, Paul has a BA in fine art. After working with advertising agencies, Paul established an advertising art studio. The studio produced design and illustration for a number of Fortune 500 companies such as Owens Corning Fiberglas and LOF glass. For the last 20 years of his commercial career Paul worked as a designer, illustrator and art director for Motorola Visual Media Communications in Arizona.
Paul is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. He is also a silver signature member of the Arizona Watercolor Association. His work has appeared in national watercolor exhibitions throughout the United States. One of Paul’s paintings was included in the Shenzhen Watercolor Biennial in China and was picked for their year-long traveling exhibition. Another of his paintings was a First Place winner in American Artist magazine’s 70th Anniversary Competition. Another, Fifth Ave. & 53rd, received one of the two top awards at the 2010 National Watercolor Society, All Members Exhibition. Several of Paul’s paintings have been featured in editions of Splash, the hardcover review of American watercolor. The Mayo Clinic has displayed Paul’s work in two solo artist exhibitions as a part of their Humanities in Medicine Program.
